Distributing medical devices is in the high-risk category for safety and, as a medical manufacturer, Cook Medical needed to ensure their workplace met the new COVID safe work policies. During the pandemic, Cook’s three high attendance, split-shift facilities were reconfigured to meet the new, strict requirements.
Critically, all three facilities needed to implement a security and monitoring system that would ensure Cook could get control of any outbreaks immediately and be able to test anyone potentially exposed to the virus as soon as possible.
Cook Medical chose T-Scan’s automated temperature detection and logging software based on value for money, ease of use, and the ability to link in with their existing security system.
Thermal wall-mount terminals were installed at all staff car park and building entrances, as well as the main reception area for guests, with deployment completed in less than 24 hours.
Automating temperature scanning reduced reporting lag time and eliminated data entry errors associated with paper-based contact tracing and reporting. With just a few clicks, all three facilities can also generate and export reports on staff attendance for use in contact tracing, where required.
